Bike path extension for Adderton Road in Telopea

2 May 2019

The NSW Government will build an underpass at Adderton Road, Telopea, as part of the Parramatta Light Rail project.

Parramatta Light Rail program director Tim Poole said the new underpass, which will give pedestrians and cyclists safe passage across busy Adderton Road, is in addition to the future Parramatta Light Rail active transport link – a shared walking and bike riding path to be built for the community between Carlingford and Alfred Street in the Parramatta CBD.

“The underpass will make getting around more enjoyable for cyclists and pedestrians, with connections to local shops, parks, community facilities and public transport including the Parramatta Light Rail when it opens,” said Mr Poole.

“We have committed to do this in response to local community feedback and extensive stakeholder consultation.”

The addition to the walking and bike riding path supports Transport for NSW’s commitment to provide healthy transport choices and prioritise a network of high-quality links within 10 kilometres of Greater Parramatta.

The Parramatta Light Rail active transport link will be accessible from City of Parramatta Council’s existing Parramatta Cycleway at Rydalmere, and will connect to all Parramatta Light Rail stops between Parramatta and Carlingford.
