New trees for Parramatta North Public school kids

29 July 2019

Four native lemon myrtle trees have been planted at Parramatta North Public School by Transport for NSW as part of the Parramatta Light Rail project.

The trees, which will bring welcome shade to the playground as well as produce leaves that can be used in cooking, were planted in celebration of Schools Tree Day, part of National Tree Day.

The trees form part of the Parramatta Light Rail Tree Planting program that will see more than 3500 trees planted over four years. These trees will make the local environment significantly greener, help to offset any trees removed as part of the light rail construction and contribute to the NSW Government commitment to plant 5 million trees by 2030.
