Local Jobs For Parramatta Light Rail

17 March 2021

More than two-thirds of workers on the Parramatta Light Rail are from Western Sydney, putting local jobs at the heart of the project that will connect Westmead to Carlingford, via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia.

The light rail infrastructure works contractor, Parramatta Connect, is targeting opportunities to increase workforce diversity and upskill workers to address shortages, as well as provide jobs for the local community.

Its workforce includes 56% Western Sydney residents, 7.5% apprentices, 19% ‘learning’ workers, 3% Aboriginal workers, 3% women in non-traditional roles, 13% aged under 25, and 4% long term unemployed, people with a disability, refugees and asylum seekers.
