Shared path updates

The 5.7km shared walking and bike-riding path from Carlingford to Parramatta is now open. However, some sections of the shared path will need to be closed while work on Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1 continues. These works may impact where you can enter, exit or travel along the shared path from time to time.

Be sure to check for any shared path updates before you travel.

Protecting heritage

We are planting more than 5500 new trees in Parramatta streets, parks and reserves to create greener places to live, work and play.

Walking and bike riding

Transport for NSW has delivered new shared walking and bike-riding paths as part of the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1 project.

Light rail vehicles

Parramatta Light Rail vehicles are modern, accessible, driver operated, and can carry large volumes of people. The new-model 'Urbos 100 vehicles' contains innovative features and can carry up to 400 passengers at a time.

The Stabling and Maintenance Facility at Camellia will hold, service and maintain the vehicles, while creating unique and exciting job opportunities in Western Sydney.

Passengers will be able to access high-frequency 'turn up and go' services that will operate 7 days a week, and depart approximately every 7.5 minutes during peak periods.
